Dragonfly Reviews

Lovely relaxing cabin, very private, very quiet, fantastic hot tub. Great walks nearby and lots of countryside and wildlife. A great break from the daily grind. Very beautifully located right next to the lake. I think we're are highly likely to be back at some point.
This year we decided to spend Christmas alone, away from everything, in peace and quiet. For this, we were looking for a place where the dogs and we could feel good. The dragonfly was the best decision. It met all our needs and gave us a great experience. The landscape was also beautiful, we hiked every day. The hot tub was impeccable, and we could relax in it very well. I highly recommend it to everyone I'm sure this won't be the last time we're there.
Stacey
Wonderful place to stay and relax. We loved it so much we booked for next year, even before we left. The view of the lake from the cabin I could watch all day and cosy log burner. Counting the days until we can return.
It is the perfect place to get away from everything and have the most peaceful tranquil break.
Harriet
A perfect escape in a stunning location. We absolutely loved every minute, got into bird watching and enjoyed our daily interactions with the sheep! The wood fired hot tub is a real game changer and made it feel extra cosy. Fantastic and will be back again soon!
An excellent place to stay for a quiet relaxing break. The view from the veranda absolutely wonderful. We will be hopefully back.
Angela
Loved the tranquility of Dragonfly beautiful surroundings and walks from the door. A complete escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Wood burning hot tub was so much fun and had great weather. We hope to visit again soon.
Gorgeous cabin in a beautiful setting. Hot tub was amazing and made for a truly relaxing and peaceful trip. Plenty to do in the area and highly recommend the friendly inn. Many thanks
The dragonfly is a beautiful little cosy lodge for two , the hot tub was great and we used it alot, everything you need is available, plenty of towels and dressing gowns for the hot tub , we took our two mini daschunds and they loved it too , there is a short walk across a field from your car parking space , trolly available to pull your cases etc. .. all organised and was fun. We also visited diddly squat farm which was about 50 mins drive, driving through the Cotswolds is beautiful, amazing views. I would definitely return to the dragonfly, the bed is probably the only thing that I would say could be better , very squeaky and not that comfy .... A bit of wd40 might do the trick !!
We had the most lovely few days staying at Dragonfly! Was perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay for both us & our dogs! The hosts were lovely too!
Wonderful getaway. Fab hosts and beautiful location and cabin! We will be back
A huge thank you to the hosts for creating such a secluded and peaceful escape from everyday life. We went to Dragonfly with intentions of walking, site seeing, visiting various locations and it all went out the window on day one because of how peaceful this location is. It truly is cosy cabin vibes all over. The log fire and hot tub are brilliant and really add to that touch of luxury. We took our Labrador who is trained not to run off, probably the only thing to consider if youre bringing a pet is the lake, the sheep and your dogs recall. Given its a pet friendly cabin its so clean, no dog hair etc. The description is very clear that you have to make a small walk through a field, bare this in mind for footwear some walking boots or wellies wouldnt go amiss in the winter months but isnt a issue and in our opinion add to the whole secret cabin vibe. All the basics available for cooking pots and pans etc, although we bring our own when it a listing is selfcatering. Thank you for making our first wedding anniversary perfect.
Matthew
A beautiful little escape from the madness of regular life for me and my partner. Already thinking about when we may be able to return.
Secluded & private. very clean. we had the perfect stay
Theresa
Great tranquil cabin . Wanted to just relax and do nothing and de stress from my day to day stuff. Having a poor phone signal in the immediaate vicinity was a plus for me . Bed although comfy squeaked every time you moved maybe some WD40 needed . But we had the relaxing break that was needed
Dragonfly was set in an amazing area. Peaceful and relaxing. Good location with amenities nearby. Loved the whole place. Observations ..... Bathroom needed some attention. EG no shaving mirror or 2 pin shaving plug. No clothes hangers or space to hang anything. Not being able to empty rubbish or recycle and store the bin in the cabin all week was unpleasant.
The most beautiful lakeside property! We stayed after our wedding and the calm and quiet was exactly what we needed. Sitting by the lake or inside both were perfect. We were glad that we started the hot tub fire at 11 as it did take a long time to heat up 45 hours but that just gave us more time to enjoy watching the lake. We would love to come back and actually see the surrounding area, but thats for next time!
Claire
Lovely little getaway, the dragonfly cabin was super cosy and inviting. Nice to just relax in the evenings listening to nature and the crackling log fire. The cabin had everything we needed. Thank you for supplying bug spray, came in very handy! Only let down was the access to the cabin via a small field which during a rainy April week was extremely muddy and boggy, we ended up losing 2 pairs of shoes. Access could be improved. Other than that, all was good. The host was very friendly and helpful, and her 3 little dogs that came to visit us were so sweet!
Its a very picturesque place with the lake and cabin . ..very comfortable and cosy ...we loved.the area but the walk to and from dragonfly became an issue after heavy rain fall ,but thats nature i guess ..we would visit again for the tranquility alone
This is a beautiful lodge which is located by the lake with wonderful wildlife! The owners were on hand if there was anything we needed. We had such a relaxing stay and would 100 recommend!
Our stay was fantastic, the cottage was perfect, clean and cosy and had everything we needed. The setting was perfect. Really amazing place.
Melanie
Absolutely wonderful, the log cabin is beautiful, the setting is amazing. The hot tub is divine. Peace and tranquility. Its perfect.
Francesca
Beautiful cabin. Clean, cozy, with everything you need even fresh eggs and honey! The hot tub and wood burner make the stay very special. Very relaxing, private, and romantic! Thank you xx
Rebecca
We had a fabulous and romantic weekend at The Dragonfly.
Had an absolutely fantastic stay with my partner for my birthday. Amazing views and being in the hot tub overlooking nature was so special. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou so much
The Dragonfly Lodge is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. It is private, secluded and scenic really peaceful with the only real sound coming from all the wildlife. We stayed for my other halfs birthday and it was exactly as the listing states. It does have to be accessed via a farm track which then leads on to a field of sheep you have to walk across. Just be mindful that the ground can be uneven in parts so watch your step! The sheep are lovely and do not bother you. As it is so secluded theres no lighting but the owner kindly provides a torch should you wish to venture out once the sun goes down. They also provide a luggage trolley which was extremely helpful for all our bags. The owner Elinor is always on hand if you need anything. The lodge itself is beautiful well looked after. Linen and towels provided but we also brought our own towels for the hot tub. all the furniture is very comfortable and fits in well with the decor. The owner kindly left us some fresh eggs and a jar of honey as well, which was a lovely touch. The hot tub is so relaxing and really easy to heat up via the wood burner to your desired temperature. Its a perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down before returning inside to sit by the cosy wood burner in the living room. The wildlife was a real highlight we saw swans and coots enjoying the water with their familiesbabies. Its an ideal place to be at one with nature. You have a whole patch of the lake to yourself that is not overlooked by the other lodges which was perfect. There are lots of trails for you to go for a walk and plenty of information on those in the welcome book. We went to Draycote Water on one of the days and did the wildlife trail which we would definitely recommend. We finished it off in the evening by visiting The Dun Cow pub in Dunchurch where we had a fabulous meal would highly recommend visiting there. We loved every minute and cant wait to come back! Thank you Elinor
Had a lovely time staying in dragonfly, very peaceful, the wildlife was beautiful to watch the hot tub was a lovely feature had an overall lovely break.
Lovely cabin, perfect for a couple. The location is beautiful, the hot tub is like a Japanese bath and we absolutely loved it. I saw a review on here about there needing a mirror in the bathroom, they have this now! Will definitely come again!
This is the ideal hide away for a peaceful weekend away. We loved the property, the lake and the quietness. We had an amazing time and we will be back.
Michael
Had a great time at Dragonfly, its nicley tucked away and looking over the lake to the front and fields to the rear. Need a small mirror in bathroom! And the icing on the cake would be a couple of sun loungers
Kimberley
A wonderful place to stay! The location was beautiful and the cabin had everything you need to fully relax and unwind. Everything has been thought out so well, especially the position of the hot tub giving amazing views whichever way you are facing. So peaceful.
We loved our time at the dragonfly it was very peaceful and the scenery was beautiful. The property was very clean and provided everything that was advertised. The owners we're lovely and responded to us immediately when we had an issue with the hot tub which they came straight away and fixed. We would highly recommend this area for a little break.
Catherine
What a wonderful place. I stayed four glorious nights in Dragonfly. There are two other cabins on the lake but from Dragonfly you can neither see them or hear them. The cabin is beautifully made with everything you might need, loads of comfy places to sit both in and outside and admire the stunning surroundings. The lake is teeming with life, I watched coots, swans and cygnets, damselflies, dragonflies, bats, butterflies, trout and more. The woodfired hot tub is worth waiting for, its such a treat to sit there taking in the views. Will and Elinor were warm and welcoming whenever I saw them. The trolley is a great idea to carry your stuff across the field to the cabin. I would love to return. It has the feeling of isolation I wanted but with great WiFi and facilities only a few minutes drive away if needed.
Stunning location on the lake, perfect for peace and quiet. Excellent facilities, the hot tub being a particular favourite. Will definitely be returning
Panayiotis
Most amazing views, feels like you are away from the world and the hosts were very helpful. Extremely nice people. Thank you Will and Elena for everything!
