Willow Reviews

Fantastic place and setting the lake and the views are fantastic, the hot tub was a little difficult to start using the wood burner but got to grips with it after the first day, only downside was it was a very hot week and nothing to cool you down, ie a fan, and couldn't find any where to put the ashes from the burners, wonderful place.
Pamela
Wonderful setting at Willow Lodge by the very beautiful and entertaining lake of the wild birds. We were very cosy in the lodge and nice and warm. Lovely peaceful nature and lovely walks all around us. We would definitely come again.
Wow! This cabin is fabulous. Set against a lake with wildlife & birdsong as your daily entertainment, young lambs in the field behind you and ample space to chase the sun, this was exactly the peaceful retreat we were looking for. The log fired hot tub is a warm welcome after a day out exploring and there's loads to do, visit and see just 30 minutes away in any direction. Daycote village is beautiful and the surrounding countryside is just lovely. Our hosts were wonderful and the welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch. I would highly recommend staying here and we will most certainly be returning.
Absolutely superb. We had a lovely Christmas. Thank you for making it special. Bev, Mo and Couer Clumber

Beautiful setting looking onto the lake at the front and fields to the rear. The hot tub is lovely and well hidden from site of others. Its very peaceful just what we needed would definitely go back EXCELLENT
Willow was wonderful , a lovely place to unwind and relax . We planned on taking our dog but Im glad we didnt as there is no enclosed area . The cabin was cosy and really comfortable and having the lake in front of you is beautiful even when its raining . The love tub was magical and a real treat . We did feel the kitchen equipment was a little too basic but we have booked to return next year so can take little extras . Overall a great place that I have told friends about but not too many
Great, cosy, comfortable cabin. The surrounding wooded area is lovely and the lake was very calming. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Willow, just relaxing and recharging our batteries. Resting in the hot tub at the end of the day was an absolute treat.
My wife and I were extremely impressed with the setting and standard of the cabin. We were very excited on arrival to explore and the idyllic nature of the site didnt disappoint! So many well thought out touches and the privacy of the location was very important to us! We would highly recommend and will be returning for future holidays
Such a lovely week here, we had the ultimate chill. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. Highlights Lakeside view Hot tub Log burner fire The cosiness of the fire Seeing a jay bird Mommy duck and her babies Comfortable bed I was sad to be going home.
We loved our few days at Willow, so relaxing and peaceful. We will be returning.

We had an idyllic 4 nights at Willow peaceful, restful, beautiful surroundings, lovely walks and wildlife. The cottage was perfect for us. Well situated private and off the beaten track but plenty of things to do easily within reach for day trips. Our hosts were great. We didn't need much except help starting our car when we had foolishly flattened the battery. They solved the problem quickly for us and with very good grace! Highly recommended place to stay for a retired couple like us.

My husband and I stayed in williow for 4 nights, it was absolutely beautiful, all our needs were meet, the hot tub was perfect, we both really enjoyed our time there, plenty off wild life to see, definitely 1010 we couldn't fault nothing ! !, the owners were easy to reach and very accomerdating, hopefully rebook for the summer, would recommend to anyone who want peace and quite and plenty of fresh air,
Another peaceful stay at the cabin. We absolutely love it here. So much so, we have two stays booked in for the future. The location is perfect for some quiet, to really winddown. The cabin is beautiful and the fire and hot tub just make the stay. Were pleased to have see a multitude of different birds this time our second stay such as geese, swans, coots, ducks oh and some frogs! as well as more baby lambs than we could count. Absolutely lovely.

We think it was ok for the price but there are a few things that brought down the overall experience. Its a cute little cabin overlooking a little pond, with quite a few outside seating options for the days the weather was nice! The hot tub was the perfect size for two and positioned in a nice, private and secluded corner of the plot. We went in February and the cabin was quite cold especially when the winds were blowing as the extractor fan seemed to let in quite a draught, even with the electric radiator in the bedroom and the oil heater in the living room it was chilly and had to have the fire going most of the day. We were travelling with firewood as we have a fireplace at home but can see that cost adding up over the course of the stay. The hosts advised the hot tub would take 3040 minutes to heat up and stay warm for 23 days. This might be the case in the summer but in the colder weather it took almost 2 hours, lots of wood, and barely stayed hot enough to use after one night so needed reheating about 30 minutes each time we wanted to use it. Similarly the description said the water heater had enough capacity for two people to shower, but we often found it was barely enough for one. There were some pots and pans provided but the cooking utensils were mostly metal so previous guests had rendered them pretty much unusable due to scratches and cakedon dirt. So we couldnt cook in the cabin. The dish brush provided was also not sturdy enough to try to scrub the pots clean enough to use. There was a hand wash bottle in the bathroom. But no hand wash in there. There were tea, sugar, and coffee canisters but again all empty it would have been nice to have enough for a day or two just to tide you over. The freezer hadnt been cleaned out after previous guests as there were prawns and ice bags left behind. There were some other little nitpicky things like the toilet seat not staying up and the flush often getting stuck so that the cistern would be endlessly refilling that dont make it a bad stay by any stretch, but were small details that created minor inconveniences and slightly impacted the overall experience. To balance these things out, there were some nice extra touches like a plentiful supply of towels and bathrobes that came in very handy when using the hot tub. A nice jar of local honey for us to enjoy, surprisingly good WiFi that enabled us to work from home whilst we were there, and we also appreciated the local pub recommendations. The hosts were also lovely and helpful in the interactions we had with them. All in all, a few minor touches away from being a really good stay.
Fabulous relaxing break away from it all. Thank you
Graham
Absolutely perfect for a peaceful break, we loved every minute of our stay and will definitely return. Dog friendly, people friendly...not a single negative from us. Thank you for a lovely time.
Jackie
Lovely chalet and surrounds very helpful owners will and Eleanor came out to help with lighting the log burner
Beautiful place. Amazing surroundings. And amazing hot tub. Would recommend highly
Louise
Absolutely loved our time at the Willows, so relaxing and serene. Have recommended to 2 friends already. We were so relaxed when we came back home. We had things planned to do while we were there, but all that went out of the window and we stayed at the lodge.
Loved it very relaxed. Already booked next year. Very peaceful and the owners were only a text away. I recommend it for a nice relaxing stay and Little Sid the Sausage dog had the best time although he did think he was bigger then the sheep when walking past.
The owners were so helpful and gave us some great tips for what to do during our stay. it's a lovely property and I'd really recommend it. Just take some clothes hangers as there is no wardrobe
Justine
Lovely place to stay, I cannot wait to visit again. Calming and quiet I actually didn't want to leave... The only thing I would say about the cleanliness was there was a few cobwebs in door frame and windows other than that it was fine...
Barbara
Had a brilliant stay here at Willow. Absolutely perfect place for a nice relaxing holiday. Only one very small concern was maybe a shower slip mat as became quite slippy in the large walk in shower. Would highly recommend to everyone.
Darren
Lovely place to be our second visit
Absolutely amazing stay at Willow. Everything was very easy, clean & efficient. Such a relaxing surrounding as well, I think we only come across 1 other person during our stay so if youre wanting privacy it is the perfect place.
Absolutely ideal if you want a quiet, chilled and relaxing break. Wonderful setting, excellent accomodation and highly recommend.
Willow is an absolutely amazing cabin set in a truly perfect setting! The peace and quiet is so very relaxing and we absolutely love being there to relax and unwind. The cabin has almost all the facilities one needs for a lovely stay and the hot tub is amazing.
Thomas
The property was lovely and it was perfect for mine and my girlfriends 2nd anniversary we had an amazing time and the surrounding areas are so peaceful and the neighbours are very warm and welcoming to people they dont know. I would also definitely recommend the friendly inn to others who stay the food was probably one of the best pub foods weve ever had!
Michele
My Husband and I stayed here for our 10yr Anniverary and it is such a stunning place. Quiet, relaxing and the perfect place to wind down from the hustle and bustle of normal day to day life. The hot tub was a nice touch and we really enjoyed this the most. Nothing spoiled our stay the oven could have been cleaner and there were large cobwebs dotted around the place however this was not a bother to us and we had the most perfect stay! Id recommend this place ten times over. Id also recommend breakfast at the hilltop farm shop and dinner at either the DunnCow or the friendly inn whilst staying here.
Had a great time and stay at Willow just a shame the lake was not stocked with ... Had a great time and stay at Willow just a shame the lake was not stocked with fish, of the beaten track with loads of peace and quiet
Absolutely beautiful! Stunning location and so quiet, especially as the cabins are on a working farm! Hosts were great, good communication, very friendly. Cabin itself was absolutely perfect for two. Very cosy, clean and comfortable. Blankets and dressing gowns were a lovely touch. We werent brave enough to use the hot tub but the setting was lovely very romantic if thats what youre looking for. Thanks again!
Andrew
The pre entry information wasn't great, it specifies contacting the owner 48 hours in advance which we didn't realise we had to do, then as we messaged on the way, worried we'd have to find a hotel instead, we got a message say the lodge was open and we could go in. This would've been good to have in the advance email. The emails are just too much, so much detail I didn't read it keep it simple if you want people to read it. Also, it said there was no TV. There was a TV. The hot tub takes a LONG time to heat up, almost impossible to get up to temperature on your first night. Challet was lovely, wood burner was lovely, decor was lovely, lake was lovely. Directions for the walk were useless, we got lost! More direction on the hot water, I.e. a small tank that needs time to reheat between showers would've been useful. Overall wonderful though, I'd love to visit again.
Perfect, peaceful, clean and comfy property. We loved the view and fire place. Perfect weather to enjoy the hot tub and fire place. Elinor, Harry and Will were lovely hosts. Quick to respond to our enquiries. Honey and cider was a lovely touch. We enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you again! We hope to visit again soon.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. So quiet and relaxing. The log burner and the hot tub were just lovely! Our dog enjoyed his stay aswell and his walks around the area. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!! Thank you
The property was absolutely lovely and the hosts were friendly and incredibly helpful. The welcome gifts were a wonderful touch. The location was peaceful and perfect for a romantic and relaxed break. Would highly recommend willow Lodge
Jordan
What a beautiful lodge willow is, we couldn't have wishes for a better place to spend our 1st wedding anniversary, from the hot tub to the stunning views off the deck area everything was perfect, the hosts couldn't have been more helpful too. Perfect 10 out of 10
Amazing holiday
Sylwia
